NON-SLIP YOGA MAT: WHAT’S DIFFERENT ABOUT THE NATURAL YOGA MAT SURFACE

Yoga is so much more than just exercise. It is a mindful practice that benefits mind, body, and spirit. The time you dedicate to your practice is valuable ‘me time’ that should be enjoyable. A yoga mat is an essential asset for your yoga practice, but it can either offer you the best experience or ruin it, turning it into a frustrating, stressful moment.

If you usually have sweaty hands and feet during yoga, you’ve certainly experienced the anxiety of holding a pose, such as a downward-facing dog; however, instead of focusing on the pose itself and your breathing, you’re counting the seconds to move on as you’re about to slip.

How many times have you had to pause your flow to grab a towel to stop your hands slipping on your mat? How many times have you felt frustrated because your towel was interfering with your movements?

We've all been there. After months of research, sourcing the best materials and partners, our debut product, the Natural Yoga Mat was born. Keep reading to learn more about what makes it the best non-slip yoga mat.

LUXURY CORK YOGA MAT: THE NOVEME DIFFERENCE

What distinguishes the Natural Yoga Mat from other cork yoga mats on the market is our choice of materials.

We wanted to offer a natural eco yoga mat, affording the user a connection with nature whilst enjoying the best yoga experience.

By selecting the highest-quality natural cork for the mat’s surface and natural rubber for the base, we were able to achieve just that.

Not all cork yoga mats are equal, and there’s a lot of misleading information about cork fabrics.

Most mats available on the market today are made of agglomerated cork: a cork fabric produced from the granulated by-products of natural cork production. Whilst agglomerated cork offers one a good grip, it doesn’t have a smooth texture and can disintegrate over time.

That’s why we have opted for the best quality of all the cork fabrics: natural cork. This fabric is handcrafted with slices of cork in its raw state, cut directly from the bark of the cork oak tree.

By using cork in its natural raw state, we benefit from its natural resistance to wear and tear, without the risk of disintegration. It is a much more enjoyable experience to the touch.

THE BEST NON-SLIP YOGA MAT? WE THINK SO

Let’s take a look at The Natural Yoga Mat surface.

NON-SLIP, SMOOTH TEXTURE

Non-slip yoga mats usually feature a surface that is too sticky, especially until it gets sufficiently broken in. Flowing on these yoga mats is often a challenge as it may be difficult to move freely between poses.

There’s no need to break in the Natural Yoga Mat. Its velvety-soft texture allows you to move freely during your practice, with the advantage of getting grippier the more you sweat. You’ll have steady hands and feet from day one.

PLEASANT, NATURAL SMELL

New yoga mats made with artificial materials, such as PVC, may have a plastic-like smell. Additionally, used yoga mats might accumulate bad odours over time.

However, the natural cork surface of our yoga mat has a pleasant, slightly sweet odour that reminds the user of the outdoors.

ANTIBACTERIAL SURFACE THAT’S EASY TO CLEAN

Cork naturally repels bacteria and odours thanks to its antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antifungal properties. Wiping your mat down with a damp cloth with just water or a small amount of neutral soap is enough to keep it clean.
